GEWC Special Olympics curlers were very successful at the Abbotsford Special O bonspiel. We had a 1st place team and our other team was 2 wins in 3 games. There where 12 teams from Vancouver, Langley, Abbotsford, Richmond, Burnaby, Gibsons and Maple Ridge.
We are in our 5th year of the program and practice Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:30. We have 14 athletes and 6 coaches making ours 1 of the biggest curling programs in BC. We will be at the Langley Bonspiel Feb.7th as well as the Special Olympics Regional Qualifying bonspiel in March hosted by Abbotsford Curling Club. We have always had great support from the management and staff of GEWC and are proud to call it our home club.
